Learn Spanish with the most unique Spanish language learning app in the Apple App Store. The students of Stoke Newington Primary School in London will help you!
We are a culturally and socially diverse school and we welcome the richness that this brings. Language is a part of that richness and this app is an experiment in language learning.
Often children are asked to be consumers of content, but sometimes we can ask them to be more. With this app we asked the students of William Patten to be creators - to be teachers and learners at the same time. We wanted to know if they could be inspired, and inspire others, to learn Spanish by showcasing the Spanish learning they do in class.
When you use this app you watch the children present some important Spanish vocabulary, for example;
- months of the year
- days of the week
- common greetings
- parts of the body
- numbers 1-10
Then you listen to native Spanish speakers and copy their pronunciation. You do practice activities to help you really learn the words and Beat the Clock, a game that tests your recognition of the language you have learned. Finally, you answer questions in your own (Spanish) words.
Regular tests will help you gauge your progress and unlock special videos of teachers telling jokes as a prize.
We very much hope you will take some time to try this app and if you do, we hope you enjoy learning with it. For us, the experiment was rich and rewarding.
